Basic and Core Concepts training for Vectorworks users in the Entertainment Industry

This course will help both new and experienced users learn techniques to improve skills and streamline workflow with Rendering Techniques

We work with people 1 on 1 and small groups to deliver Spotlight and Vectorworks Entertainment focused training for users from backgrounds in Theatrical, Concert Touring, and Broadcast Environments with any level of experience.

Introduction and Core Concepts

Day 1

Day 1 covers an introduction to Vectorworks for users with all levels of experience. 

Students will cover first document setup, drawing commands and organisation, resources and image importation as well as confidently create and refine a workspace that focuses on the design process.

3D Modeling

Day 2

3D Modelling is a powerful tool for designers. Participants will learn and identify the different tools and feature sets available for effective 3D modelling while discovering effective workflows for executing concepts in 3D with practical exercises to help demonstrate the basic solid modelling operations and capabilities. 

Entertainment Design

Day 3 – 4

The Entertainment Design learning pathway is a Step by Step process that combines workflow ideas using the tools covered in days 1 &  2 and introduces new toolsets to the participants one at a time. Participants will complete a task in a set window of time to build a venue and entertainment design from the ground up. 


Concepts covered across days 3 and 4 are Venue Creation, 3D Modeling Stage Objects, Soft Goods, Seating Sections, Rigging Tools, Lighting Tools, Audio Tools, Video Tools, Positioning, Focusing, Numbering and annotating

 

This course is also great for people new to lighting programming in general. It covers Views, Attribute & Timing, Patching, Groups, Presets, Sequences, Executors, and Phasers 3D and Networking. 

It provides a more comprehensive understanding of the fundamentals of programming with the grandMA3.

Entertainment Rendering Techniques

Day 5

Participants will learn the power of creating worksheets, developing sheet layers, building title blocks and using Renderworks cameras to explore different rendering modes and using Lit Fog when rendering and publishing projects.

The total amount is $2,260 per student. Course dates are published in the Lightology academy and are held twice yearly.
